Warrior Pit
- WA Museum Boola Bardip
Whadjuk Noongar Country (Perth) - 2025
Beyond the actual Terracotta Warriors, ranks of digital figures stand in silent formation, fading into the distance like memory.
As light moves across their surfaces, traces of colour return, fragments drawn from pigment, text and history that reimagine the real people these warriors once embodied. Subtle shifts in sound and shadow evoke an army both ancient and alive, honouring the scale, craft and humanity behind the Emperor’s vast creation.
Technology
Created in Unreal Engine, the installation uses multi-channel projection mapped using Dataton Watchout and Panasonic projection utilities to extend a field of digital warriors into depth and distance. Real-time lighting, colour grading and particle systems animate subtle shifts across the figures, while spatial audio and environmental haze complete the illusion of an army that breathes and moves within the space.
