The Tomb's Threshold
- WA Museum Boola Bardip
Whadjuk Noongar Country (Perth) - 2025
Before reaching the Emperor’s tomb, there’s one last test.
A shifting field of arrows moves in response to every step, concealing a hidden path through the defences. Find the way forward without being caught, the only route that leads through unharmed.
This motion-tracked work blends light, movement and instinct, transforming myth into an interactive puzzle inspired by the tomb’s ancient traps.
Technology
Built in Unreal Engine with real-time tracking, the installation uses multiple Orbbec depth cameras composited in Pointcaster. Motion data is streamed via ZeroMQ to Unreal, triggering dynamic arrow animations and spatial sound controlled through QLab and OSC.
Two ultra-short throw projectors are mapped using Nvidia Mosaic and Epson projection utilities.
